This is a great taco sauce that goes well with, for example, fish tacos. It’s also really good as a hamburger dressing or as a cold sauce for grilled food or as a sauce base on hearty sandwiches with chicken or turkey. This tartar sauce with chipotle is a guaranteed hit!
You will need
3 chipotle chilies in adobo sauce, seeded, rinsed and finely chopped
1 cup homemade or Hellman’s mayonnaise
0.4 cup pickled cucumber (preferably garlic cucumber – see recepie), finely chopped
0.4 cup shallots, finely chopped
Freshly ground black pepper
¼ tsp Old Bay Seasoning
1 tsp Jalapeno chili, finely chopped (optional)
How to make it
1. Put all the ingredients in a food processor and mix. Let the sauce stand in the refrigerator so that the flavors have time to merge.
